Colin Swinton will be holding a 2 day watercolour worksop at the Botanical Gardens Study Centre, Sheffield on July 10th-11th, 10am-4pm.

The NSBA have been approached by the St Johns Hospice in Doncaster to produce their 2012 Calendar.

This Calendar features original artwork by many NSBA members. See the Gallery of pictures featured on the St Johns Hospice 2012 Calendar here.

All proceeds are going to the St Johns Hospice.

 To all members who have exhibits in the current exhibition at Patchings.

 Pictures can be collected from the Botanical Gardens Study Centre on April the 26th  at the Painting Day .

 If you are unable to collect , please  ensure someone  attending on that day collects your work on your behalf.

Please  note that the 2012   SBA EXHIBITION will be taking place at Westminster Hall in  London fro the  20th -29th April 2012 11am -5pm  daily including Sunday.

Please note that one of our own members( Joan Battle) has five pictures in the exhibition so well worth making  the visit to see Joan’s excellent work.

On behalf of all society members we  would like to offer congratulations to one of our member’s Joan Battle.

We are very proud to announce that Joan has gained full membership into the Society of Boatinacal  Art (SBA) after having all five pictures accepted into this years exhibition in London.

This now entitles Joan to use the letters SBA  after her name……. signifying a guarantee of excellence in Botanical art. 

 The NSBA  is very proud not only to have Joan as one its members  but also  that Joan is the only artist in  South Yorkshire to gain this award. Well done Joan.

 A post note  for all members and guests who attended the opening preview of our exhibition at Patchings.

Cheryl who opened the preview , may be well known to some of you(though workshops attended) for her  superb floral paintings. She is inspired by structure,colour and form of botanical and natural history objects producing contempary watercolour images.

 Our latest exhibition saw Cherly Wilbraham opening the preview on Saturday March the 10th in the Barn at Patchings art centre. The morning was well attended by members and guests who were very impressed with the standard of exhibits, So well done to everyone who entered work for this event. For those of you who were unable to attend I would strongly advise a trip to see what is an excellent venue for our art work.

 Adjacent to the Barn is a delightful  cafe where on Wednesday 14th as part of the Nottinghamshire Tea Part event complimentary tea and coffee will be served  between 2.30 and 4.30.

Dear Members, just a reminder to you all that the scrutiny for the forthcoming Patchings Exhibition is taking place on Saturday the 3rd March at the Botanical Gardens Study Centre @ 10am prompt. Coffe and tea will be served

 Please could I draw your attention  also to the standards for scrutiny, (especially for this exhibition mirror plates will not be accepted.) The standards were issued along with your renewal forms.

We are hoping for 60 pictures in total so please  join us and you may bring up to three pictures for the srutiny process. We would also remind you that packaging material clearly named is also required to enable safe transfer  of pictures to the exhibitionvenue. Many Thanks
